All ultiQuest Technology neutral-density filters are made with BK7 grade A fine-annealed glass or optical-quality fused silica. A thin film consisting of several special metallic alloys is vacuum-deposited on the substrate. The alloys have been chosen to create a spectral-density curve that is flatter over a wider range than the curves of most pure metals.
Metallic neutral-density filters can be used at any wavelength between 200 nm and 2500 nm (fused silica), or between 350 nm and 2500 nm (BK7).
Two or more neutral-density filters can be used to achieve values of transmittance or density not otherwise available. By combining various filters offered here, 55 separate optical density values may be achieved.
